Our specialists conducted a comprehensive roadmapping process to guide the California Energy Commission's (CEC’s) RDD&D activities in photovoltaics, concentrating solar, land-based and offshore wind, bioenergy, geothermal power, small hydropower, grid integration, and energy storage. Through a literature search and numerous interviews (37), surveys (7), and webinars (9, including two with more than 100 participants), our team gathered input from experts and the public to identify key barriers, research gaps, and priorities. The final report recommends 17 initiatives and provides supporting technology metrics, generation trends, resource analyses, and other relevant information.
